A Citadel graduate and former U.S. Navy pilot, Don founded Spectrum South, which became Umbro International's global communications division in 1996.   He has produced and directed documentaries for NASA, The Gettysburg National Battlefield Park and The National Air and Space Museum. Don received the Elizabeth O'Neil Verner Award in 1993 and the American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award in 2002. He has served on the boards of directors for the SC Historical Society, Historic Greenville Foundation and the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. He has served twice as chairman of the Leadership Greenville Board of Regents. Also a Civil War historian, Don's book, Doctor to the Front, received the New Hanover Historical Society's Clarendon Award. Most recently, Don received the 2011 Southeastern Museums Conference Outstanding Service Award.
